Ming

Where do I begin to explain what a special, beautiful boy Ming was. Show me a cat that on command gets into his bed but makes sure you know he is only humouring you by giving a short miaow as he does what has been asked of him. He always liked to have the last word. He loved cheese, avocado, pork scratchings and most of all chicken.
About six years ago Ming developed caod and this was controlled and he continued to enchant everyone he came across. Unfortunately in June lost the sight in first to one eye, developed diabetes and then lost sight in the other eye. His beautiful blue eyes were no more. On June 6th my special boy was put to sleep. Why is it that the "kindest thing to do" hurts SO much? Why is the hole that he has left SO enormous. Goodnight my beloved companion and friend. Thank you for 15 years of happiness, laughter and smiles. I am trying to not cry because our time together is over but to rather smile because it happened.

Humanitarian move

I had to see Mom's cat, Abby, a long-haired tortioseshell female cat of 30 + years die in front of me in October of 2010. It really did hurt to have to tell her that her baby girl was gone. She died of a heart attack right in the bedroom. We buried her in the back yard of the house.
