Cat Grooming Supplies

Cat grooming supplies are essential for grooming your cat.

Grooming is a very important part of keeping him looking healthy, keeping his coat in good condition, and even checking for any possible health issues or problems such as parasites or infections.

When it comes to grooming your cat you’ll need the proper cat grooming supplies. These tools can range from cat combs and brushes to shedding items, ear and eye products, dental tools and cat bathing supplies. It is important to pick out the right cat grooming supplies depending on the breed of cat that you have.

Should I use a cat comb or cat brush? This all depends on what you want to achieve when grooming. If you’ve noticed any fleas jumping around on your cat, then a comb would be best. A comb will also remove any matted fur. A brush on the other hand is ideal for regular use, especially on indoors cats who don’t have many matted areas. Using a brush on your cat is also good for removing dead skin, any loose hair and providing a good massage.

Picking the right comb is important:

  • Find something made of stainless steel that has teeth that aren’t too sharp.
  • It should be easy to use and easy to handle.
  • The cat comb you pick should have two sections of teeth, one fine and the other coarse.

Pointers when choosing a cat brush: There are several types to choose from - wire, rubber, plastic, and palm.

  • Make sure the bristles are not too sharp.
  • Wire teeth are better for long haired cats, as they help prevent matting and knotting.
  • Soft bristles are good for short haired cats.
  • IIt's good idea to have a couple of brushes handy just in case you lose one.
